I'll first try re-installing as administrator... Then, concerning the following: Ingleside said: This bug should be fixed in the current BOINC-client v6.6.28, so you can try installing this version instead of the old WCG-version. Didactylos said: We do not recommend BOINC 6.6. Which one is the good one ?I assume release 6.6.28 is a beta release, or a unofficial release ? L. The "good one"... this is the client that works for you... There's two types of BOINC-client, the official ones, downloadable from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php there the current recommended windows-version is v6.6.28. And it's the slightly customized WCG-client that is currently at v6.2.28. Since WCG doesn't currently have any CUDA-applications, there's not been any big incentive to upgrade the WCG-"recommended" yet... ![]() "I make so many mistakes. We do not support BOINC 6.6. This means if you have a problem while using BOINC 6.6, you may not recieve any assistance.
----------------------------------------Our recommended version is BOINC 6.2.28. BOINC has too many bugs to make any version worth using just because it "works for you". edit: I don't think I was sufficiently clear. We do not support BOINC 6.6 because it causes too many problems for users. We do not support it, and we do not want to support it. If you use it, it is entirely at your own risk, and any damage it does is entirely your problem. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 28, 2009 11:28:34 PM] |

Hi Guys !
No need to battle around release id... I did remove the r6.2.8 from my system... Then I logged as administrator, then installed the r6.2.8 anew... And made it run as a service. This solved my problem. No I just have to configure my firewall, and let my PC run all day long. Many thanks to all of you for your help, |

Okay thanks, thus it seems what was suspected, the privilege level that needed admin to get all permissions set properly during installation: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost?post=231556.
