I am set to receive WUs for FLU and CMD2, and I have received quite a few WUs until today. I see I only have one active WU for CMD2 but I have 10 others waiting for validation because whoever has them is not letting them complete. Would this be a reason for not getting additional ones?

You've done your part, so no, but I found that the FLU/HCMD2 mix caused me to receive on average 1 in 5 HCMD2, four 6 hour FLU and one 1.5 hour HCMD2. There are only so many tasks put into the feeder, long and short, so HCMD2 being shorter, I think they just get picked up much quicker leaving the long jobs to be fetched.

If you look at the due date, the way these are scheduled makes sense. The Muscular distrophy PHase 2 are due June 2 (as of this posting) while the healthy rice is due May 28. Therefore, since I subscribe to both, there will be more healthy rice WU's than HCMD-2 WU's because it is due sooner.

We will be starting another beta test shortly. This will provide a much better method of sizing the workunits that will allow everyone to get the work they want, have less issue with the unpredictable sizes of workunits, and allow us to give HCMD2 equal cpu time balance with the other projects (HCMD2 is processing more results per day then other projects, they are just much smaller in cpu time then the other projects so they wind up with less cpu time).
As for why we don't increase HCMD2's weight higher, we are still adjusting the processes that load work into BOINC. We had the sequence set in a somewhat inefficient method and it resulted in Help Fight Childhood Cancer running out of work last night (there is plenty of work for the project, but we fell behind in loading it into BOINC to send). Please be patient with us while we iron out these issues. HCMD2 is a worthy project and it will get its fair share once we get things straightened out. |

Thanks for mentioning the beta's knreed. I was able to grab one of them as a WU was just wrapping up (with some minor cache manipulation ). It looks like it's only an hour's worth but every little bit helps when you're in the hunt for that ever elusive Beta badge .
As to the MD-2 work units, I figure that there'll be plenty for everyone both after the initial craze dies down & the bugs are ironed out. It's just a matter of time. |

Not seen a formal announcement, but seeing version 6.13 in my queue i.e. the science version that was beta tested has gone into production.
