The projects are coming in thick and fast.
Only a couple of weeks after the IADS Project launched the, "Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2" Project began. I like a good diversity of projects and to support each, but for me the time gap was just a bit too narrow between each of these project releases. Is there a Launch Date Schedule in place? |

Is there a Launch Date Schedule in place? I'm sure there is, although we won't get to see it as it's WCG's policy to not announce in advance any dates/projected projects etc., so that, when they do launch officially, they can generate press publicicty and, hopefully, bring in loads of new crunchers What I'm led to believe though (through reading the forums), is that they're hoping/planning to have 10 projects up and running concurrently. As to whether they'll achieve this, or indeed, surpass it, only time will tell Again, as to what these projects would be, we can only guess - although, I'm presuming that, at some stage in the not too distant future, there'll be a DDDT2 and a AC@H2, just again, by going by what I've read in the forums... |

yes there is a launch date set up for each project but WCG keeps all that information secret
----------------------------------------also sometimes projects get delayed or bumped up a bit as well in my opinion they bumped the influenza project up cause of the H1N1 came out. yes there have been some projects launched close together but most of these projects run more than six months so it really dosnt matter when the project comes up. |

nasher, you are very intuitive.
My understanding is that many of the next planned projects will be additional phases for projects that are running already. There may be some surprises, but with 9 concurrent active projects, I expect the techs will be very busy indeed. Like the additional phases for FightAIDS@Home, it is probable that some of this will be completely invisible to the members. Watch out for updates from the project scientists. |

it shouldn't be that hard on the tech's if eveything is working well
----------------------------------------yes there are lots of work units but they just need to be sorted out by the difrent type of projects. yes i like FightAIDS as well as many other jobs. I like that there are so many active jobs it means there is something for everyone depending on what you like to run. FightAIDS only has 1 badge seting right now and cause of it alot of the badge hunters tempoarly drop from all projects and just go to the new badge till they get it .. so cause FightAIDS uses only 1 badge they probaly loose people tempoarly when each new project comes out |

Thank you for your informative comments. It's good to know the WCG is so well run/organised, and to have some idea of what the future will bring.
Im sure I am not the first to notice this: To the left hand side of users messages is an ever GROWING collection of project badges. I see many people already have 4 rows by 4 columns of project badges! Another few rows and the largest part of most posts will be their shiney badges! As Peoples badges are automatically updated, old posts will expand in size, and reading them will mean more scrolling down. Perhaps putting the badge collection along the bottom would be better! |

As Peoples badges are automatically updated, old posts will expand in size, and reading them will mean more scrolling down. That only gains so much. In the future, they could then be displayed as semitransparent watermarks for the messages themselves.Perhaps putting the badge collection along the bottom would be better!

Perhaps putting the badge collection along the bottom would be better! Alternatively, limiting the sigs to a 15 pixel height might also help |
