smile Manual download of new tasks

Hi,
I use BOINC on a portable computer, so once in a while I'm not connected for some ours and I could see that BOINC automatically download new tasks when the running task is about 2 ours to its end.

So, if when I know that (for istance):
-1) my running task will be in progress for 3 ours
-2) in 10 minutes I'll disconnect my computer
-3) for the next 5-6 hours I'll stay not connected (i.e. I'll be on a train)

or (for istance) my network will be down for half a day for manteinance

I think it would be useful a key in BOINC manager to force the download of a new task also if it will occur some hours before automatic download.

I hope to have been able to explain my idea confused

Re: Manual download of new tasks

Hi Andrea,

The quickest way to control the amount of work in the Additional Buffer is opening BOINC Manager, Menu Avanzata, Preferenze, Uso Della Rete and Riserva Di Lavoro addizionale. You can set this to for instance 1 day, so you're always ready to go off-line.

ciao

Re: Manual download of new tasks

Sekerob, first of all THANK YOU: now I'll work even when I'll be in the office of my clients wink
Second: you are a genius not only because you gave me (or us) the precious answer but, above all, because you gave it in italian language and with only one error, probably a typing error(menu avanzata instead of menu avanzate).
Your italian is surely better than my english wink
