I need to stop queuing WUs becasue I cant keep up with you guys. Some of my machines have freed up, but I have about 12 more hours before eveyone frees up and is dedicated to HCMD2. I have only 11 days right now, but once I get going I should have bronze at the next update, silver at the one after that. and maybe Gold at the one after that. Once I have all my machines freed up from queued WUs, it should only take 36 hours to go from noting to GOLD :) - Mitch No chance, man...!!! You are addicted to your wingmen, and believe me, that might take ages!  I have plenty of finished WU's in pending, but only 9 days validated. And in total I should have arround 45 days spended cpu time!!! But not even a bronze badge...  |

Hey Ady! I have 38 pages of PV's.  I have 77 pages of IPs. Could be easily 38 pages from you. 'Unfortunatly' I got a lot of Beta WUs- so wingmens have to wait a little bit longer than expected to get results from my Laptop with high speed 500 Mhz Celeron CPU.   Looking at boincstats, you have a BSrac of 1,568... And than you have 77 pages of HCMD2 of IPs (which are approx. 1,155 WU's). Did you buy yourself a new serverfarm today, or do you have your cache set to more than 100 days...??? I fear, that you have your cache up to the maximum, so I hope, that you are not my wingman with any of my WU's, otherwise I have to wait 10 days, before they get validated... Did you buy yourself a new serverfarm today, or do you have your cache set to more than 100 days...??? totto73, He may simply have been hit by the False Very Short WU curse!  Within minutes you receive hundreds of WUs estimated at 8-9 minutes. Then, later, you discover that they are really taking the same time as the other ones (say 1 hour in my case) and that some can go up to 2.35 hours (currently my biggest 8-minute WU). At this point you are in big trouble with your client and your wingmen have just to wait while you try to push the mess out as efficiently as possible.  Cheers. Jean. |

I forgot to give an important detail why the phenomenon can result in a huge number of FVSWs.
----------------------------------------Until your client reaches the first FVSW (or you see it and stop everything) your normal HCMD2 WUs which are a little oversized go on completing and reducing the estimated times, therefore the estimated duration of all your FVSWs decreases and your client asks for more work. If it still receives more FVSWs it goes worse and worse. Personally I noticed it less than one hour after it started and I already had more than 200 such naughty WUs (in a quad with 2 days buffer)! At this point the estimated duration of the queued FVSWs was about 6 minutes. Cheers. Jean. |
