Sys icon locks up on XP machine IAD V6.6.28

hi, Just installed IAD on a (stable) Xp sp2 machine - unfortunately the application locks up at random times. By that I mean the system tray icon does not respond to L or R mouse clicks. However the processing seem to be carrying on on detached from control. If I restart (progs\boinc\ etc) I can regain control but then see two instances on the icon list. Something's not right... should I re-install or what have I done wrong?
thanks.

Is BOINC Manager crashing? Have a look in stderrgui.txt to see if there is a crash report. Also, check to see whether boincmgr.exe is still running - whether it is listed as "not responding", or whether is is using a lot of CPU time.

Thank you.

Re: Sys icon locks up on XP machine IAD V6.6.28

hi,
boincmgr is running but not responding to clicks on the sys tray icon. If I start it again (while frozen icon still there) from Start/progs/... then that second instance responds and the the original icon comes alive too!

a process called wcg_flu1_autodock.... is running using 90% cpu.

No sign of crash report in stderrgui.txt here's an extract:-

I think perhaps your system is just a bit sluggish. Do you have problems with other programs being responsive?

The other possibility is that you have a network issue (possibly caused by your security software) that is causing BOINC Manager to freeze up for a while.

Perhaps try using version 6.6.20-

6.6.28 is still listed as unstable and for testing only---
