what is approximate BOINC Internet traffic?

I'd like that my incoming traffic doesn't exceed 100Mb in a month.

Hello e-note,
Click on the red HELP in the opper right corner, then select 'System Requirements'. That will take you to http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq which lets you see the download and upload requirements for each project. If you have a single core, you can safely run everything. If you use multiple cores, yoiu might want to exclude HPF2.

Re: what is approximate BOINC Internet traffic?

See the System Requirement Page link on your My Grid page or the Matrix in the Start Here forum. Per result the data is compressed taking 0.1mb for download and 1mb for upload. That's on my Quad about 7 hours per result, so 24hours in day / 7hours * 4 cores * 1.1mb = 15mb daily would I crunch this on 4 cores all day long.

For several sciences, HPF2 and RICE the techs have set up a smart routine, that often does not require the download of a result, merely the flip of a switch to tell that seed-set X has been assigned to client Y. You then see a new task appearing in the queue without an actual file transfer... for HPF2 that a considerable transmission saving. Don't know what the statistical chance is that this happens though as the table that is transferred with a result is not everlasting.
