No way to enter club 14 because no way to get Climate WU. I just received one that crunched for less than 24 hours. AC@H is supposed to fire up again sometime in the future, and thought the same badge would be used. So maybe you can earn it at that point. I'd love to upgrade my bronze. I have 5 days accumulated for that one. Edit: by the next stats update (hopefully) I'll be a club 14 member too! ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 11, 2009 6:50:25 PM] |

Look at discussion on the move of HCMD and AC@H to the completed research section in the HCMD forum... implication is, both going to have a new badge.

There is anyhow no chance for me to join the club14... How ever, for being a member for a little more than one year, I think my badge collection is not too bad though... ![]() |

It was just for fun as i started to crunch from the begining of WCG and participated to every projects. Anyway, what is important is to participate, with 1 or 14 badges, i don't care. joneill003, you missed no badge.---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by boulmontjj at May 11, 2009 9:32:43 PM] |

no chance to enter club 14 as a few projects where finished when you started. And, even if you were involved with WCG right at the beginning, that was no guarantee of getting a badge for every project - as, some were UD whilst others BOINC - and thus, you had to judge the timing just right or have at least 2 machines - one running UD, whilst the other BOINC until all the UD projects completed/got transitioned across to BOINC. Hence, the scarcity of people who've got badges in every project (apparently, there is someone "out there" who still has the capability of getting a Gold badge in every project - although, to my knowledge, they haven't appeared on this forum and thus, the CA's are keeping quiet as to who that person is...). ![]() |

And, even if you were involved with WCG right at the beginning, that was no guarantee of getting a badge for every project... Indeed, I started WCG when the earliest projects were running, but I didn't manage to crunch through enough Genome WUs to even get a Bronze and I missed AC@H completely. It's only in the last 6 months or so I've managed to up my machines to bring my contributions to the other projects up to a good level quite quickly. As many people have said, the badges are a motivating element which enables volunteers to see how they contribution affects the different projects, which was not easy (or perhaps even possible?) before. I'm now using them to try and get an even contribution over the current projects after discovering that pre-badges, I managed to contribute 5 years to HPF, 4 years to FAAH, but only about 18 days each to HDC and HCMD. Now I can make sure that I contribute to each current project as evenly as possible. Seems only fair to me. |
