Hello all,
----------------------------------------The ssl certificate on my computers used by BOINC to make a secure connection to the WCG servers expires at July 7 2009. I do wonder: is this because I'm using the older BOINC 5.10.45 or have more recent versions of BOINC the same ca-bundle.crt? I've tried to download a new ca-bundle.crt from Boinc Berkeley but this proved to be the same (old) certificate. Do I need to update my BOINC or can I expect a new version of the ssl certificate soon? Have a nice day, Path7. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 4, 2009 5:09:48 PM] |

If you don't want to upgrade to the 6.2.28 WCG recommended version, you could always fetch a new certificate file, but thanks for warning... the copy I have that came with 6.6.24 alpha also expires on July 11, 2009

You are both confused!
The first certificate in the file expires on July 11, but the file contains many other certificates. The files DOES NOT CONTAIN the WCG server certificate. Instead, it contains the certificate at the top of the chain that is used to validate the WCG certificate. The certificate used to validate the WCG certificate is valid until May 25 16:39:40 2019 GMT So, no worries. |

Hello Didactylos, Yes I seems to be confused by the first end-date I found in the ca-bundle.crt. Thank you for explaining the real end-date. Have a good day, Path7. |
