Re: BETA 8, version 6.10, April 24, 2008, ANONYMOUS

Received most the first day but have received a few today so there may still be some out there. Only two computers received Betas the first day. Three received Betas today.

David, for the batch of beta WUs subject of this thread today is the first day (see its title).

Cheers. Jean.

Ahh... OK. I see now. Oops.

I received 6 work units on 3 different machines today. None have been returned yet.

Re: BETA 8, version 6.10, April 24, 2008, ANONYMOUS

After a few beta WUs of reasonable sizes (between 2 and 9 hours on a Q6600 at 2.88 GHz) I think I have got a VERY BIG one:
BETA_CMD2_0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-TPM1A.clustersOccur_34 has reached 6 % after 2.5 hours of runtime, which gives an estimated total of 42 hours! If my peers have got their copies on a P4 or older they will have no chance to return it on time!

We'll see... Jean.

Hmmm... 4+7+about19=about 30

You said on 15 compu's... I guess, the number of about 30 machines with about 79 cores explaines, how you got 31 betas.

Anyhow, regarding the badges we are now equal... biggrin
biggrin biggrin

It's around 104 cores with indeed 30 or 31 machines.
In total 72 beta's now, 4 are PV and 13 Valid, so it's going very well in my opinion.
The run time varies between 2,5 till 12 hours of which the most is between 6 and 9 hours.
15 days left till gold... Here we come!! biggrin

See
BETA_CMD2_0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-TPM1A.clustersOccur_xx monster WUs

Please join this thread and use it to follow up if you have one of these monster WUs. Jean.

Re: BETA 8, version 6.10, April 24, 2008, ANONYMOUS

Is there something off with the deadline for these workunits?

I got a batch sometime earlier this evening and their deadline already passed an hour ago. The same for multiple types of CMD2 betas: 1I7X, PP1BA, 1RKC
7 WUs that are going to all be past the deadline in an hour. I'll of course continue crunching them.

As best as I can tell, they seem to have a deadline of 2hrs, but take 6-9hrs on an i7.

I also noticed something off on the 6.10 version Beta's. They orriginally had deadlines on the 27th. All of a sudden, today they all are showing with deadlines on the 25th (today). This is causing some to be changed to "no reply".

Please look at the thread I mentioned in my post just before yours.
knreed wanted to change the deadline of all CMD2 Beta WUs to 7 days in answer to the problem with monster WUs, and it appears that it has changed it to 7 hours. crying

For WUs already started that might not be a problem: they will be flagged "Too Late" when they come back (maybe) but knreed will be able to valid them later.

For WUs not yet started they will probably be canceled by the servers.

I have sent Kevin another mail to warn him but I don't know when he will see it.

Sorry. Jean.
