BETA 8, version 6.10, April 24, 2008, ANONYMOUS

knreed mentioned today there was another round coming up and just looking in the quad queue saw 3 separately received tasks mixed with other project work. 3 Day deadline, init 3 distribution, quorum 2. Pushed them to front of line and still iPAQ size. The second round the spread of run time was between 2 and 15 hours on the same machine.

Re: BETA 8, version 6.10, April 24, 2008, ANONYMOUS

I got several on 4 different computers. Received most the first day but have received a few today so there may still be some out there. Only two computers received Betas the first day. Three received Betas today. Two were computers that didn't receive any the first go 'round.

Some have been "Aborted by Project" before they started. I guess once two results are returned the third one is not needed and is aborted? confused

31 on 15 compu's

Are they all with dual quad cpu, or how do you get so many betas....? thinking

I just got 5 on 16 compu's, but most of them are single core, and also 50% are only running during working hours... straight face

David, for the batch of beta WUs subject of this thread today is the first day (see its title).

For what happened to the previous batch please see other older beta threads. To make the story short, a file size problem has affected most previous betas and those which had not yet started have been canceled from the servers.

Cheers. Jean.

Currently 38...
4 of them are 8 core machines and 7 have 4 cores. The rest (about 19)is dual core. These Beta's have been released at around 13.30 UTC as far I can see, so depending on your timezone you could have bad luck.

Hmmm... 4+7+about19=about 30

You said on 15 compu's... I guess, the number of about 30 machines with about 79 cores explaines, how you got 31 betas.

Anyhow, regarding the badges we are now equal... biggrin
