Re: 2nd round of CMD Beta

These are serious... the first 2 were 10:48 and 9:50 wallclock (elapsed time), 10:42 and 9:43 CPU time, high efficiency, but tough to crack. The last are looking to do 9:30 and well over 11 hours, a the Q6600. Memory load still as low as first beta run, fitting on my iPAQ, but doubt the battery will last ;>)

Added: Upload varying. One is 1.2mb, the other 0.237mb

Re: 2nd round of CMD Beta

I had one of the failure WUs on the first round of units due to the known
"file size" error. I picked up two of the second round units yesterday afternoon CST. When I got home I suspended a couple of running tasks to ensure these got immediate runtime.

I noticed that this pair did not automatically run with high priority. I assume that was intended, but mention it since the last one did run high priority. They both started at almost exact same time and completed successfully. One validated and one just force submitted by manual update on client.

BETA_CMD2_0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-TBAPA.clustersOccur_2
* 5.78 hours
* Valid

BETA_CMD2_0001-DHRS3.clustersOccur-DHRS3.clustersOccur_0
* 9.09 hours
* Pending Validation

Moving in the right direction for sure! Congratulations to the team!!!

Re: 2nd round of CMD Beta

We have doubled the allowed system space usage up to 400MB.

We have another version of the application that is currently in alpha testing that does not output the very large file that is no longer required.

Both of these actions will eliminate this max disk usage issue going forward.

Re: 2nd round of CMD Beta

Knreed,

What is the expected crunch time for these Beta WU's? On this one machine, I had a wide variation in completion times on the 3 Beta's I crunched. Was there supposed to be such a variation in completion times?

Analogue to CEP running on CHARMM and this project doing same, it would not surprise me to see substantial variability. Knowing some other projects outside WCG with dramatic fluctuations, it's probably something we've got to learn to accept if this was not intentional.

Re: 2nd round of CMD Beta

This new project has significant variability in the runtimes. It is hard to predict although we will work with the PI to figure out any possible way to predict it.
