BETA_E000506_616A_003c6f00y

This was estimated at around 15 hours and finished in 1.06.

Where do the beta time estimates come from? It seems like most of the time estimates on regular units are pretty close.

Since this was only my 2nd beta unit, I'm not sure what to expect.

The estimates come from alpha testing.

For production tasks, the estimate is based on previous work from the same batch, and is all handled automatically.

Re: BETA_E000506_616A_003c6f00y

pirogue,
These beta WUs are meant to fail, so they may end any time before their estimated runtime:
knreed:
We are running a short beta in order to test a change that will allow members to get credit for the type A workunits that are currently erroring out with the exit status 29.

For the purpose of the test it is a good thing that they fail as early as compatible with the architecture of the application.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: BETA_E000506_616A_003c6f00y

So, does the fact that I had ~10 error 29's last week explain why I was "blessed" with 9 beta units at once, in the last day or so?
