It's been so long since I got a reply on that other thread that I forgot about it. Still appears the Points System link on the My Grid web page doesn't even work as a link to anything for me, unless it's just too slow for me to still be viewing the My Grid page when it finally works.

Works fine for me. It should be a link like any other link on the site, so I'm not sure why that would causing an issue.
