Please watch out for faulty WUs being sent out recently. There seem to be pretty many of them; I just forced one on my Core 2 Vista machine to upload, four other seem to have hit my Quad Linux box. They error out almost immediately, without accumulating even a second of CPU time.
This one is from my Vista machine: X0000057640398200509190817_ 4-- In Progress 4/10/09 09:09:19 4/13/09 16:21:19 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 X0000057640398200509190817_ 3-- Error 4/10/09 07:21:44 4/10/09 09:08:22 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 X0000057640398200509190817_ 2-- In Progress 4/10/09 07:17:29 4/13/09 14:29:29 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 X0000057640398200509190817_ 1-- Error 4/10/09 07:16:09 4/10/09 07:17:19 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 X0000057640398200509190817_ 0-- Error 4/10/09 07:13:34 4/10/09 07:14:45 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 The first sections of a rather lengthy Result Log: <core_client_version>6.2.19</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -529697949 (0xe06d7363) </message> <stderr_txt> Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline Skipping: 1239608744.000000 Skipping: /computation_deadline Das aktuelle Verzeichnis ist ungtig. <CImgIOException> CImg<unsigned char>::get_load_convert() : Failed to open image '../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/X0000057640398200509190817_X0000057640398200509190817.jp2.gzb'. Since about 3:15 UTC today all HCC WUs I have received under XP are failing immediately when starting. All Result Logs are as follow:

Hi all,
----------------------------------------This is my first post so bear with me if I'm posting something obvious. I've noticed up to five working units failing in a row across all my systems this morning with the same error. https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view...By=sentTime&pageNum=1 Windowss XP displays a window with a C++ error just at the beggining of starting the work, sorry i did not write it down to show it now, my concern is if it something related to my setup or it is normal work of the project. As of now there is one working unit that seems being processed Ok. Thanks ![]() |

Trotador, thanks for your report and for having copied your post to this thread so quickly. For your first post you have had a very fast reaction!
---------------------------------------- I am going to the CA forum now to ring the bell for the techs... Cheers. Jean. |

Hi Jean, the first of those WUs I received was sent out at 03:07:36 this morning. I have not chosen to unselect this project, as new WUs don't seem to be sent out at the moment anyway. Best, Robert |

----------------------------------------Trotador, I forgot to say: we cannot see your Results Status page. The link you give is the same for everybody. There are a number of "personal" pages like this one, e.g. My Grid My Stats, Device Manager, etc... When in doubt look at the link in the address bar. Cheers. Jean. [/off topic] |

I have not chosen to unselect this project, as new WUs don't seem to be sent out at the moment anyway. Hi Robert! Fine if the servers have detected the error rate and suspended this project. But still, keep watching: I don't know if this safety status can only be reset by a human being or if it is only for a given time. Cheers. Jean. |

As you can see from the other posts, there's nothing wrong in your setup, it's just some issue within the project you made us aware of. BTW, the URL you quoted doesn't show your results to the others, it shows each member's own results. The C++ error you mention can be found in the Result Log. Best, Robert |

---------------------------------------- Noted what you said on the url, I did not know it. I have supended the working unit that not errored since it was progressing very slowly. Should I let it finish or cancel it? thanks again ![]() |

Hi Jean, as those WUs error out immediately, they don't waste CPU time at least. So no reason for me to opt out, even if more of them were sent out. Or does the number of errored out WUs affect the reliability rating of my machine(s)?! Best, Robert [Edit 1 times, last edit by rkar22 at Apr 10, 2009 10:34:36 AM] |
