*Bug* Bonic 6.2.28 (Resolved)

This may have been reported, forgive me if this is a duplicate.

When I close out of this version I get a Dialouge box warning me that I am closing, I choose to end the sience applications click ok and I check processes.. it is still running. I like to close out of BONIC manually to insure that progress does not get lost durning a restart.. any fix soon??
Using XP SP3 here.

Thanks

Progress is captured by each of the different projects at different times but none of the *checkpoint* triggers happen when BOINC closes so nothing extra gets saved when you close it manually. Chechpoints for each of the projects is explained in this FAQ Check Points

If you still feel it is necessary to shut BOINC down manually, it sound like you installed it as a service so you need to go to the services section in XP by launching control panel and then dbl click administrative tools and then dbl click services I think the name of the service is boinc manager (certainly has the name boinc in the beginning) right click on it and choose stop.

If you installed as a service, but are running BOINC Manager as a limited user, then there are some known issues relating to controlling the service.

Re: *Bug* Bonic 6.2.28

Hi, Didactylos

I did not install it as a service.. but it seems to be terminating properly now after I restarted my computers a 2nd time.. load it up close it out now the processes are terminating properly..
not a checkpoint issue in regards to the first reply..
little minor bug I would say after the restart from upgrading.. all is good so far, now to see how results come in and how the new projects end up working...

Thanks..
