Since March 21 I have a had a new 4 x 2.66 Q6700 computer running the French version of XP. Everything was fine until Sunday, i.e. 2 days ago. For 48 hours it kept downloading only 1 WU, although the benchmark test showed 4 genuine Intel processors. All my attempts to get it to download 4 WUs failed. Suddenly this morning at 6 13 it downloaded 4 units all together. So the problem has resolved itself. But does anyone know why, in case it happens again? Were there not enough units available? All of my other computers have been working to their full capacity.

If you only had CEP selected, there were only repair and late return replacement jobs in circulation. Select "give me other work if..." in your My Grid > My Projects page when CEP is in short supply to keep your machine busy.
----------------------------------------OR, please visit your Result Status page on My Grid, either your client was confused or your client was turning in bad results, which sets a daily quota to 1, which you can see in the BOINC message log. Soon as a good result gets returned AGAIN, more work gets released to that client. Anyway, the reply is based on lack of key information in the query. Let us know and we'll revisit.

"Give me other work if..." is selected and I am participating in all projects. Also, this computer did not return any bad results. Anyway, the problem has resolved itself.

That's fine. Usually the message log tells what's on, Quota, No work Available, or simply "Requested 0 tasks". The posting of a good portion of the messages helps us analyze an issue.
----------------------------------------Please mark your opening post as [RESOLVED] in the title, so all know the case is closed. ciao

Interestingly another computer which is not quadcore has also just downloaded 4 workunits at once, so it may have to do with the servers.

As said, your clients could have been confused, e.g. if they had taken a long time to complete a result, or devices were off for part of the time.
----------------------------------------If there were server side supply issues, the forum would have been aflame. Yesterday, was a second highest record day for WCG. Oh, and do note that if you make device profile changes to the projects selection section, My Projects is no longer valid. This page is designed to make changes to ALL device profiles in a single action.
