CUDA problem

I am playing different 3d intensive games every day and since I am running BOINC i can't run any of these. The solution is to restart computer and then they work, but just untill the BOINC runs again.

America's Army isn't really overwhelming graphics game but even it displays the following message.

Build AmericasArmy[BuildDate:2008-10-01_BuildVersion:2.8.4]

OS: Windows Server 2003 5.2 (Build: 3790)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2402 MHz with 4094MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (8048)

Error setting display mode: CreateDevice failed (D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY). Please delete your armyops.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game.

History: UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

OS is not Win2k3 - its Win XP x64 Pro, Processor is Intel C2Q Q6600, and GF9800GT has 512MB of RAM.

I must say that NOW when i can not run AA, I can not run even Trackmania:

I can't even run Quake 3 !!!!!!!!! I now must restart my computer.... don't know what to do..... and I don't really like restarting it..... and WILL not restart it every day just to be able to play while Boinc is installed - but not running....

Thanks.....

What version of BOINC are you using?

Re: CUDA problem

Hi!

That's odd... WCG does not have CUDA-related projects, and for your error messages I don't see any relation to BOINC at all...

Why do you suspect of an issue between them?

Re: CUDA problem

Maybe I am posting it wrong.

I'm also having SETI@home running, which uses CUDA.

Boinc version 6.4.7 = last

Sorry if it was a different project error. I detached from Seti@home project and will continue to drill WCG only. I hope I don't have the same problem tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Dakky

Re: CUDA problem

Hi dakky21,
You can set up some commands to stop running BOINC as a service and to restart it. There is no need to reboot, which is much slower. Ask us how to contril services if your new method does not work.
