If I don't hear anything to the contrary by WEDNESDAY ****ALERT DEADLINE****repeat BY WEDNESDAY, will throw the levers and roll us to the run time challenge.
Got stuck on the phone all day [long story of no interest to the board] so my only progress on the computer front was getting the Primordial Slime to report. Seems to be a heat issue. 10 year old machine decided it would report again after I gave it an overnight cool down. Suspect the magic smoke is making an escape attempt but foiled for now and back on line. C'mon peeps - speak up now or don't complain if we do the run time challenge. It's too quiet in here... |

Just a thought and I've done NO research on the issue....but what happens if we sign up for more than one Challenge? Run Time counted at one Challenge and, say Results or Points at another? I see no reason why it wouldn't work...GP?

Sounds more like a Router Issue than a Machine Issue (could have been an IP Conflict)...next time something like this happens...reset your Router (or unplug power from the Router for a minute or two, then plug it back in ....give all machines a few minutes to converse (log back in) and try again EDIT: IF you have to do a Power Down or Reset you will need to reconfig your routers securities and other settings as needed  ...(It will go back to default settings) after you've done this a few times; CHILD'S PLAY!!!! Let's not go there. It's proprietary to my ISP and I don't have hours to spend in the phone queue waiting for them to flip switches on their end. Liked it better when I was running my own router, but their modems were burning out so often that they insisted I use their stuff that they support. Hasn't crashed yet and no other machines are having problems, so I'll leave that alone. Got way too much other stuff to do with my time.
Once we've got a few challenges under our belt, we'll try the fancy combos and see what's possible. |

I'm up for challenges, but have no idea when I will have time to actually fire up anything new. I counted 3 idle pc's at the office, but all have to be re-formatted before using - that's why they were pulled off in the first place.

----------------------------------------...Done Deal guys and Gals, we are Registered! Challenge is for Team Members Combined Run Time from 2/1//11>2/28/11. If it will finish a work unit before the deadline...Fire it up and start saving finished WU's due 2/1 or after until after the start date...Sport says he'll compile the In House Challenge results at the end of Jan. but extend monitoring until the end of this Challenge !!! Remember as individual members you can come and go as you please TEAM runtime is what is counted; in fact any Team can leave if we/they wish (I see no reason why we would do this). This Challenge allows late entrants, but we are in plenty early, and yes if a machine will finish a WU before default, run it! If not there are still ways around that and get our Run Time  Contact me at SeriousCrunchers.net for work arounds As they say "Someone else makes the rules; it's up to us to take advantage of them"  Bottom Line...we need as many members contributing as many machines as absolutely possible to make a decent attempt |
