Continual "Reboot" error message

Howdy,

I hadn't used WCG in a while. It ran fine on this computer several months ago. I rediscovered WCG a couple of days ago and saw that a newer version was available. Installed it, and now every time I start my computer I get the following message, "A reboot is required in order for BOINC to run properly. Please reboot your computer and try again."

Not sure what to do at this point. Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated.

sad Re: Continual "Reboot" error message

I just received a new Vista 64-bit PC and have the same problem with a clean install.

Re: Continual "Reboot" error message

Forgot to mention that I'm running Vista as well. I've been living in a heck of early adoption for a year and a half.

Re: Continual "Reboot" error message

Hi, jtolb65.

Your problem is that you got a buggy BOINC version that World Community Grid doesn't recommend. Our recommended BOINC version is 6.2.28.

However, to fix your immediate problem, you should delete the rebootpending.txt file that BOINC has left lying around somewhere.
