If we want better adoption, it seems to me that it would be valuable to make a WCG client that is actually an attractive screensaver. Better yet, create a WCG client that can be easily attached to a ton of screensavers, then offer them for free.
Right now, as cool as some of the visualizations are as a geek, there is no way my mother (on her dual core PC) is going to choose this over those silly flying fish. |

Good news then, cause nowadays you can crunch for WCG even if you run another screensaver, such as that flying fish.

----------------------------------------If you give mama an octo with "all projects", she also does not always get the same fish, but graphics of different projects where BOINC is working on. Yes, the graphics are not the glossies, but the big fat project names at top such as "Help Fight Childhood Cancer" will tell anyone who comes to tea what it's about. cheers and happy crunching
