Been thinking about this for awhile. Instead of bumper stickers, making window stickers to promote WCG. I have a step daughter in the navy and she gave me a sticker to place on my back window that stated," My daughter is serving in the US Navy". What I liked about these stickers is you can't see them from inside, so no obstruction of sight from inside. Any way, these are about 4 inches in diameter and thought about some type of logo to promote WCG. So now I am looking for suggestions on what to put on the sticker. Am thinking of WCG in the center, then "Your computer can help" on the top half, "WWW.WorldCommunityGrid.org" on the lower half. As much as we sit in traffic looking at the back of other vehicles, folks will see it. A, open to all suggestions so lets here them. Thanks

I'm not a marketing person but my opinion is......
The US Navy bumper sticker is not one that requires action when one gets home. There's a brief acknowledgement when one reads it and that's probably all. A World Community Grid bumper sticker would require action on the part of the reader. That means that in the few seconds they have after they looked at it, they message would have to compel them to memorize the url and then go to their nearest computer and try it. The widget we have works much better: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewGetMarketingImage.do |

That would be targeted advertising, rather than brand awareness. I think World Community Grid can benefit from both.

We could try something that is a sort of visual puzzle.
----------------------------------------I was thinking of pictographs with a translation under each element. Here's a crude attempt but you get the idea ![]() If I were to spend more time on it I would stagger the words - one over, one under, one over - or vice versa. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by twilyth at Feb 24, 2009 1:35:18 AM] |
