What determines WU processing order?[RESOLVED]

I only get about 10-12 results per day on two different machines and am trying to maximize my daily efforts because all it takes is a couple of PRs to mess up my daily stats (I know eventually it will all work out but I like to keep things nice and even smile So what I want to do it to check only the tasks that will take me into the next stats update but the web site and the agent don't present the tasks in the same order and as soon as I sort on a common field (say like report deadline and time due) I can't seem to get the agent back to the order the tasks will be actually be processed in. That leaves me with having to not only check the tasks I have suspended but also trying to determine if the "ready to start" status is because I thought so or if it was is a new task. I would rather use the website and the agent to help me do this rather than start loggin all of the WUs manually. While I do keep my daily totals and charts I have not broken them down by individual project much less WU, and yes, I am spend too much mesing around with WCG to begin with tongue

Re: What determines WU processing order?

OK ... I did some more reading (thank you D for the link to the wiki in your signature) and it says ... "Normally, BOINC schedules tasks in the order they were received" ... but I don't see in the Agent how I can get back to displaying my tasks in that order ... I really don't want to re-install. Maybe I will just up my cache to 3 days to eliminate some, if not most, of my agita over PV cool

Re: What determines WU processing order?

In BOINC manager switch to Grid view to restore receipt order. This view will be removed come version 6.6.

Re: What determines WU processing order? [RESOLVED]

Thank you ... It was Grid View that I messed up but your post pointed me in the right direction ... I switched to the "Accessible" view and it is very close but not exactly the same as if I sort the web page by Sent Date. When multiple files get tagged with the same Sent Date, the web page then sorts by tasks name but this is close enough for me for now. This will get easier once I finish getting my exact WU and project details automagically :-)

Yes, in the future version the 2 are merged and is simply called Advanced View.

Re: What determines WU processing order? [RESOLVED]

I hope they will add something so people can sort by "processing order"
Do you think I should post this in the "suggestions" forum?

Re: What determines WU processing order? [RESOLVED]

Since BOINC is an open source software developed at Berkeley and the option having been mentioned quite a few times, little gain. The deadline column could be made 3 click, up / down / historic. I'd prefer as in BOINCview, additional columns, selectable, but as it is, BOINC should manage it, so doubt it will be.
