[Resolved] Problem with IE 7

On my new machine which has the latest version of all the software IE 7 gets slower and slower and slower....eventually I have to restart to get back to normal. Using another browser such as Chrome does not have this problem.

If I look under Task manager I see that there are multiple instances of ieexplore in the process list and using the end process does not kill the process, after a restart of course there is only one iexplore and everything is fine for a couple of hours.......any ideas?

Re: Problem with IE 7

Believe there is an option to set and run it as a single instance.

I'm on IE8 RC1 and there is an option that forces all tabs to open in the same window.

There are IE7 alerts out again of active exploits, so using it is at your own behest.

Not sure if you last comment meant you found it.

IE8: Internet Options > General > Tabs button > Tick Browsing with Tabs box.

Further down a box to open links from other programs in tabs of current window.

Sorry, but I run it in Italian, thus not sure the translations are matching to English.

Re: Problem with IE 7

Nope, it happened again. Got multi-entries of IE in Task Manager, none of which would end process. Tried a re-start using menu....it sat there for 15 minutes doing nothing, repeated selection of restart, log off or shut down totally ineffective. Finally had to do a power cycle.

Now not going to use IE for at least 24 hours and will use Chrome to see the effect....

Re: Problem with IE 7

Are there multiple entries on the start bar or contracted copies under one start bar listing?

I started IE7 on the Vista box and it sits there minimized with 3 tabs open in it. Just 1 IE entry.

And, Google suggests you could have malware:
