Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

Evening all

A cool but dry day for the weekly giving profit to the supermarket but fresh fish for dinner this evening is something to look forward to.

Am now getting regular warnings about the TV signal going digital before long. Most of you guys will have been through this some time ago so did you encounter any problems?

Me too!! sad crying I think I have made my decision though, and I am going to "play" (although it is true!) the pathetic "little" (only I'm not!) women who hasn't a clue what to do!! (That bit is completely true!). If that doesn't work, it is find a man' and pay him!

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

Mornin' all.

A Hard frosty one it is too
once again its a clear bloo sky tho 30f and dry

************************
To Ivan and Merle And the advancing digital TV
it was quite painless when we entered ,
the second region so to to do..
Depending on the age of your TV, Has it got free-view built in?
They ^^^^ them that do such things switch off the analogue signal .
You then should go to tv menu DTV selected
There are all the channels
If your tv is without this sophistication a small set top box can be plumbed in it costs about Twenty quid no more this gives you thirty or forty + channels for F R E E
It shouldn't require any changes to the Aerial or diving into the wallet......

Merle, play the " dippy owld dear " card they have tech people to help the permanently confused
(not that your in this category) just smile and blink your eyelids biggrin

Once again the change over was smooth if at the moment you have 5 channels on the digital switch 100 including radio.

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

Thanks for that info Den - very helpful. I had already started practicing my "silly old woman" and "I don't know what to do" performances, so hopefully I shall be able to bring them into practice when the time comes. If not, it will have to be a "pathetic" cry to my grand-son to see if he fancies a half-hour drive in order to come to the rescue of his "silly old Nana"!! I'll let you know how it goes!! smile wink
