Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

♥
Did you write this yourself, old sage?

Oh if only!

This is Shakespear's 'to be or not to be' I've just changed the begining, I hope the Bard will forgive me.

I am a lover of poetry in all its forms, so much can be expressed through verse. Love, humour, nature, war and death it is all there in Birthday /Christmas/Valentine/ In sympathy cards, the childhood nursery rhymes that we all learnt as children, the sonnets, plays and poems written by famous and ordinary folk, they speak to the reader or listener and can touch all of our emotions.

Take courage as you start out single again, life is a road full of pot holes you would have to be an exceptional traveller to avoid them all, the trick is to climb out of them and continue your journey with renewed confidence the prize at the end is that you know you have lived life to the full..............
Good luck............... rose good luck

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

- thanks Scribe
- never knew much Shakespeare blushing
- except for "Something is rotten in the State of Denmark"
- and after upon visiting

- between Ted and "A"
- and Guitar Man and you, Scribe
- I also learned:
Alas, poor Yorick.
I knew him, Horatio;
a fellow of infinte jest ...

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

rose old sage
- as a horrible amateur I have tried my hand making poems
- not very good, but then again it was amateur stuff
- but it was a strange new way of expressing what was difficult to express otherwise
- and reading poems never said me as much as it does now ...
- only: I'm lousy at Shakespeare - we did Hans Christian Andersen over William
Thank you for your advice
- I'll try to pick my potholes with care
- but being me, I shall definitely slip into a few
- may they not be too deep for my shock absorbers tongue

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

Good morning everyone, Merling Day is here again,so,,,Goodbye Pension...

Moaning all....................

Don't go speeding to Morrisons Ted

THE HIGHWAYMEN OF CLEVELAND

In my car I started out in 1952,
Now half-a-century's almost passed and I am feeling blue.
I've reached the age of 72 with no blot on my name,
Now I've just received a fine, I hang my head in shame.

Five miles too fast was all it took to make the camera flash,
Then they played it by the book and demanded all my cash.
Perhaps I've been a little naughty, it was an oversight,
But wanting money - pounds times forty - means I can't sleep at night.

I'm not really one to shout, I do have bread well buttered,
But if for months I can't eat out, I'll be well and truly gutted.
I know how much they need my cheque, I've also heard a rumour,
But really they've made me a wreck, do they have no sense of humour?

75 pence the government gave me, enough for a bag of nuts,
I know my efforts will not save me, but at least I had the guts.
Dick Turpin in the days gone by was not a man to talk,
"Stand and deliver" he would cry, 'til they hanged him high in York.

In 2012 it's now not so awful, they only want your cash,
And how'd they know you'd been unlawful? 'Twas the highly dreaded flash.
Unlike Turpin, I'll not hang, nor shall I face suspension,
But forty pounds is an awful lot to pay out of my pension.

The three points' penalty as well,
I think I'll take up pottery,
To while away the boring hours,
And hope I win the lottery. biggrin wink

Old Sage wink

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

rose blanco ivan, wouldn't you come back, please
I know Denmark was not officially an ally
- and that we invaded
- and that I still do
- because I love you Brits
Me not crunching is part of me being Base Camp's mother
- had I plenty of 'systems' I would spread'em around
- Base Camp was as close to parenthood I ever came
blanco ivan, you have a family
- I do not. Not at all.
- I thrust myself in whose arms will hold me hugs
I remember I carried a post back here for you
- and I'll do it again
We had friendly exchanges, you and I of gravad laks and Itzehoe and netbanking
- and my day is just not right if you don't post here just around 1700 GMT
Please come back rose and post this evening coffee coffee

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

OK I suppose I was feeling a tad sensitive but my feeling was that there are places for fellow chrunchers on a particular site and plenty of others to have separate conversations.
