Evening all
Raining here seriously for the first time for some weeks. Naturally, it coincides with a Test at Lord's but my days there on Friday and Saturday were bathed in sunshine. As it is, London Transport have done me a good turn because, but for all the weekend stoppages, I would have been there. It always gives you the relative important of different sports when special transport arrangements are made for big matches at Wembley and the tube shuts down at St John's Wood. |

ah,I See the tube shuts down at St Johns Wood and you are the wrong side of the closure I take it
---------------------------------------- Never actually been to watch First-class cricket at Lords or The Oval both of which I used to often pass. The nearest I got to the cricket at Lords was on a match day when I broke down on the T junction just past the ground where you take a right turn when heading North towards the M1 engine stalled at front of lights had to push the elderly Beetle full of wife, kids and Kitchen sink across to the accompiment of car horns .After getting to the other side giving it a coat of looking at , it burst into life and never missed a beat all the way to Blackburn and returned to Rye 10 days later not even out of breath unlike the driver who suffered severe anxiety the whole trip ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jun 5, 2011 6:05:58 PM] |

I Have spent some time today with screw driver and blind faith
----------------------------------------up some steps changing light fittings In particular one in the room that houses my crunchers it now has a ceiling fan(from my come in handy stock in the garage ) and the ambient temp is much reduced moving the air around instead of the machines just cooking it . Murphy's law of course came into play as today is much cooler so not truly sure of the effect, didnt do before and after checks The blind faith bit is 'cause I cant really see what I'm doing up the ladder holding the fitting with one hand turning /locating the screws with the other . Fed up with being elevated and cranking my neck upwards I then ended up on all fours Finishing the trim around the wood flooring laid a couple of weeks back replacing thresher strips and such like. |

I think religion is the least of it, Scribe.
Vision, maybe. It does things to you having to bend your neck backwards doubly in order to look through the reading field up there on a ladder ... Knew an electrician who ordered glasses with the reading field in the top of the glasses for work. Smart thinking. Besides, Wishbone (Dens to you) is in charge of the chuck wagon ... that he decided to actually Base Camp himself was a delightful surprise. We are happy to borrow him for a week or so and hope you don't mind ... |
