sunny here off to buy something which will repeatedly get very dirty ... auntie, what is the environmentfriendly way to convince ants that the outside world is all theirs but the kitchen is MINE :ninja: Welll Alan is right, but it might be nice to consider a slightly less 'military' solution. Here in UK you can get organic powders, that ants won't cross - let me go look about online....... http://www.organiccatalogue.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=61_181 don't know how to do a link here sorry That will take you to Growing success Ant powder. it works...... and contains no pesticides. I use it, what more of a recommendation do you need. ![]() Awww look at that whydontcha - it does it iself J |

FNE!
found a lot of anti-ant thingies at the store, covered in labels advertising how they were "especially designed for ecological use" or "100% organic" but then if you read the back of the box it says things like "dangerous for organisms living in water" "can cause serious damage in aquatic environment" so I left them all at the store and decided to give concentrated lemon juice one last try then all that's left is eau de javel or learn how to speak ant ![]() |

Evening all
Sunny and very warm here all day so the community annual clean up was a pleasure. It's also interesting to notice that as it gets to be a regular feature there is less to clear up each year. clearly, it's harder to start to throw rubbish in a space that is clean than add a bit to something that's already there. We also do a bit of painting of street furniture and the phone connection boxes so it's all looking spruce again and you could see people really enjoying the process. Another message from daughter tells me that, (a0 it's raining and (b) the earliest they can expect a flight back to UK is next Friday. I hope that she's got good travel insurance. Meanwhile, people living around Heathrow are saying 'this is what live used to be like'. |

I thought there was a shortage of light aircraft & Helichompterrs....
----------------------------------------Police are currently trying to trace where the aircraft took off from in order to identify those that died. Private aircraft owners are strongly advised by the Civil Aviation Authority not to fly due to volcanic ash, however no legal restrictions are in force .
