Greetings all....Hope everyone is doing well. Winter has been pretty harsh this year. The Washington DC area is expecting 16 to 30 inches of the white stuff over the next 2 days (what happened to global warming?).....Take care and talk to you all soon!!!!!

Hi all, Have been taking it easy today, overdid it a bit yesterday and now suffering the consequences.
Global warming Chris is the biggest con in history! The world was a mass of moulten material when it started, then it cooled down so far we had an iceage. It will correct itself it always has. |

Evening all
Had some sun today which certainly cheered things up. Why on earth do you think the majority of worldwide scientists are performing some sort of con in falsifying temperature evidence and arctic ice loss? To con, suggests you have some financial gain in mind. You presumably think the oil, chemical and other big industrial players are trying to persuade the opposite as a pure altruistic duty to the population. I know I'll be long dead before the real effects start hitting home but I still try to take some care. Thanks for the round robin Den. Unwanted phone calls are a nuisance. I've had the screening in effect for some time but it can't stop the calls originating outside the UK and most of the cold calls seem to come from India or have a very American female voice. Additionally, Those who have legitimate access to your number, the utility companies and so on, are now also in the habit of trying a bit of sales calling, switching or adding some insurance. My usual answer is to hear the first spiel, then put the handset down and let them carry on until they realize they're talking to nobody and at least that costs them a little something with no result. Have a good weekend everyone. |

That's strange - I never have any of those sort of calls - in fact no 'cold calls' at all as long as I remember. Do you think it is possibly screened by my provider? |

Hows the kitchen coming along? Ah the kitchen! Well it was finished a week ago, that is all the cupboards, worktops, etc. fitted and I am over the moon with it - looks brilliant. But of course, I now have a small matter of "the tiles". The cupboards all look so great, that the tiles must be equally great so as not to spoil the beautiful new look! We happen to have a really great tile shop nearby, and the situation there at the moment is that as soon as they see me coming again, they all dive under the counter, into the loo, or concentrate very hard on another customer! I have a fairly large number of samples now, all stood in a row on the worktop, whilst I try to make up my mind which ones I prefer (that changes each day!) and which ones are the best colour/shape. If one of them goes the best with the kitchen cupboards, it is the wrong shape or size, and if it is the right shape or size, it doesn't quite go with the cupboards! So I suppose you could say I am waiting for some form of minor miracle overnight, and when I get up one morning, it will all be solved! Needless to say, anyone who comes in to put "their two pennyworth" in the pot, only makes matters worse - like two many cooks spoil the broth! So all I can say is, "watch this space", but don't hold your breath! |

...we can always go to a car park and plan it! ![]() Oh what a good idea Scribbles - we could come to a decision really quickly then (or does my memory not serve me right!) However, can't help thinking that the travelling costs for us all would be rather exorbitant for the project in hand! ![]() |
