I've just downloaded the first 3 Volumes of "Round the Horne" to listen to while I work... and how fabulouso it is to varda it's jolly old eek again. It's making quite a dent in my productivity though as I keep laughing! Sometimes on here I feel like the right odd one out, but finally... I am listening at the moment to a combination of the Navy Lark and I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again, Again, pretty much on repeat. I get really annoyed with people when they interrupt my work to ask me questions because I always forget to pause, then I have to scroll back and find where I was in the show. For a long time, I listened to the Goon Show on repeat, but my fiance stopped me when I started (shut up eccles) taking on certain (shut up eccles) roles and just recounting entire episodes (shut up eccles) from start to end (shut up eccles). Ooh, I havn't posted here for a while ( I read it though every day) and I wonder how many badges. I'm sorry to say that Last time i did post, I said I was abotu a week from completing 1 year of processing. It wasn't that I *lied* per say, as just had a headache and decided that there where 256 days in a year. Also, congratulations to everyone when (and especially JC who's blatantly carrying us) as I saw we shot past the 20M points, (and grats to davwhite shooting past 50k there. Come awn! Race ya to 200k ;) ) Anyways, afternoon all from Stormy Norwich, UK. |

Evening all
Just back from my trip to Bognor Regis and the cousins now begin to include the next generation so there was quite a gathering with one having an 80th birthday to celebrate. The sun even came out. London area post is suffering from sporadic industrial action so I have several expected deliveries hanging somewhere in a warehouse or whatever. |

Do you know Evy, it is really great having another female posting!! muwahahahah time we find some more reinforcement for the guy situation here stole that term from an american friend who used it to describe a visit to a hardware store on that topic, I'm supposed to keep 8 technicians in line here at work and overheard two of them (both notorious naggers who I'm sure have vinegar coursing through their veins) saying that they had asked some guy to keep an eye on something and that(and here I quote) it was still a better idea to ask a guy than to ask a woman !!! arhghghgh   they don't know I overheard and they DEFINITELY have no idea in how much trouble they are now (we really need a ninja icon)   |

Morning everyone, all this talk of the goons, and ninja's, reminds me of a much better time of life, when the radio (Wireless) had really good programmes. I remember listening to the goons many many moons ago, and Around the Horn, Heck, I even go back as far as "ITMA" with dear old Tommy Handley (can i do yer now sir?) Remember "Dick Barton Special Agent? and "Journey into space"?
Then some idiot invented the television, so now we get rubbish like "Big brother" (a bunch of hasbeens or wannabees acting like idiots- and no doubt earning a fortune!) Quiz programmes by the bucketful, programmes about car boot sales, and house decoration and cookery. What ever happened to real entertainment with moderate language? Guess I am getting old eh? |
