Dandelion Jam.....probably from the old English name for dandylion - piss the bed! ![]() Otherwise known as piddley flower, not heard of the jam before but have known the leaves to be eaten as salad and also infused as a tea. Don't eat to much Den, you'll end up with furry ears and a fluffy bum Have a good weekend all............ Old Sage ![]() |

Morning all
----------------------------------------Used to have an aunt & uncle who lived in Ealing I recall seeing a railway carriage on the back of a low-loader going into Ealing studios I wonder which Film that featured in ? The other memory of Ealing was that in the nearby Park there was an Avairy that held what to me seemed a LARGE scarlet Mac Caw ******************** not too bad a morning, so far DRY My Nieghbours have decamped to Cornwall for the festivities hope they have packed their wellies *********************************** The Dandylion is a right pain in your garden leave just a small bit of root and it will strike a new plant so it's good to get your own back by eating the damm thing I did know about the salad leaves, the flowers gathered in quantity can end up as wine And even the Root is used as a Coffee dried roasted and ground to a powder . Its supposed to have medical benefits in the Liver /Bladder area ???? PS of course if stuck out on some remote hill side not sure of the time just find a seeding Dandylion clock and blow Sorted ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by densnaps at Dec 23, 2012 10:50:50 AM] |
