I have just started this Wu today: E000322_ 428A_ 001w2d000_ 2, While I was looking through my result status I came upon this WU Status, and I see the other 2 WU units came up as inconclusive, what does that exactly mean, and why does it come up as that. and is their a good chance that my WU will turn out the same

It's because the first 2 results were not identical (quorum 2), thus marked inconclusive. A 3rd copy will have to be computed to determine which of the 2 is correct. highly unlikely, but a 4th might be needed too if that one is not agreeing either.

I didn't want to open another thread so I am using this one

It does happen from time to time. In this case, it's a known issue with The Clean Energy Project.
The techs released a new version of the software recently - just too late for this particular result. |

one of my Cp have just generated an error, is it normal to get errors sometimes? I have done over 200 WU's on my own computer and everything has been validated With this particular error code and the success rate you show it is most probably not your machine's fault. You can read and join this thread Still producing errors for more reports on this topic. Cheers. Jean. |

Just another question, my machine had a invalid WU, it looks like I received points on it why would I receive points on a WU that was invalid?

Hello hunterkasy,
Invalid results are granted half-credit. I notice that your Valid result that ran for 6.6 hours received 137 points but your Invalid result that ran for 13 hours was granted 108 points. This seems to be about right. Lawrence |

But, why would they give points out to invalid WU's? doesn't invalid means the WU was not completed properly?

Hi hunterkasy,
Points granted are explained here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105 It does not explain the philosophy for granting partial credit for Invalid results. I expect that it is done to keep members from feeling too depressed about spending all that time producing a result that will not be used. Lawrence |
