I have a suggestion, give members a url referral link in their profile and let them earn points when they refer someone to WCG. And can even give out badges for the points.
Most online strategy games has a referral link to earn "turns" |

Interesting idea to offer extra merit for bringing on traffic. Trust nelsoc will read this.
----------------------------------------There's someone who's been counting referral clicks, but I never see him go outside the chat room promoting this, so not sure it's still alive. cheers

Bad idea.I could bring a hundred PIIs online and get the points then a week later take them off.Repeat again. The bonus for bringing new members on board should be the satisfaction that more help is there to help these projects toward the finish line.

It's a good idea. Cheating can be avoided by technical means. The one downside that I see it that there is no way to credit all the previous recruitment efforts.
But the schedule is looking very full right now, and this idea looks costly in terms of implementation time - particularly if it is to be done right. |

It's a bad idea.If you recruit because you believe in the merits of the projects great. If doing so for points only invites abuse.

If it's cost that is the problem, I will be willing to buy the kegs, and we all can have fun while we are trouble shooting, [Edit 1 times, last edit by hunterkasy at Feb 6, 2009 3:17:02 AM] |
