DDT sim error? [Resolved]

This was an error in the BOINC client. My apologies, and thanks to those who replied. The moderator may remove the thread.

Thank you,
Mike

Re: DDT sim error?

How did you start the BOINC agent in your box?

I recommend starting BOINC

./boinc --redirectio --daemon

check out ./boinc --help for the options. It sounds like you a redirect issue. Also, please note that boinc 6.6 is not finished and is still in development, I would recommend using 6.4 client.

The same way I always do:

./run_client &

And then the manager

./run_manager &

I am used to everything in the "messages" tab being echoed to the shell. I just ignore that. However, this is a different signal. I've seen something similar happen on other WCG beta projects before, and those times data was being directed to the shell rather than being written to a results file. Actually, here is one:

My concern is that something similar may be happening with the new DDT client. If I'm the only one, then it may be my PC... confused

Re: DDT sim error?

The DDDT science code is the same as the FA@H code. They both use the same version of AutoDock. This code has not changed in multiple months and should be the same as it was before.

I think what you are encountering is something new with the 6.6.x client, can you try going to the 6.4.x client for your computer to see if you get the same issues?

It was introduced with the 6.6.2 client and reported on the boinc_alpha mailing list. Dr. Anderson said it would be fixed in the next client release.

I was just coming back to say, the same thing happened with Einstein this evening. My apologies. This thread should be closed.
