There was a seeming brief outage for the website. Usually taking a deep breath and waiting a little let's these transient connect problems go away.

If there is crack in the seams, don't sniff. Not sure what this comment exactly is intended to convey, but tweaking work is bound to be required for a while. If night-stats goes from nearly 3 hours to just an hour, than certainly that problem was cracked.

We are working on this now. The load balancers were set up to perform the SSL encryption/decryption but they seem to be struggling with the load so we are changing things to lighten the load. It may have been a bad decision to use the load balancers for this as our web servers have significant untapped cpu power available while the load balancers are struggling so we may just move the ssl encryption/decryption back to the webservers.
