What is your realistic dream computer for 2010?

Here is my version of both hardware and software being one isn't too good with the other.

HP

25.5" High Definition Display with high speed precision touch screen
Computer integrated into the display(All in One)
At least a Nahelem Quad Core 2.4 to 3 Ghz or greater
4-8 gigs of high speed ram DDR3
1-2 Gig ATI high speed graphics card GGR3+
A solid state disk drive with 1 Terrabyte of storage at 300MB/Sec or greater
A high speed rotating hard drive with a storage of 2 Terrabtyes
MS Windows 7(64 bit version)
Multi-color backlite keyboard with backlite trackball integrated
Built in 7-10MP HD webcam with infrared capability for dark plus Iris scanner for logins
Dual stereo microphone
Integrated smart card reader for online transactions with banks, merchants.,etc
Integrated Finger Printer scanner that can't be fooled like on Mythbusters
High Definition integrated virtual surround sound(high speed fourrier transformed)
Driven by voice commands with intelligent voice response/confirmations
Integrated digital television receiver with inputs for cable/sat
Dual high speed Blue Ray read and write drive
Integrated wireless(G-N compatibility, bluetooth) for wireless phones, cameras, printers.,etc
Layered Voice Analysis Software Solutions(LVA) for chat rooms, phone calls from PC.,etc
Automated Voice dialing phone calls from the PC with video conference capability
A virus scanner package that never fails to get rid of suspicious activity or viruses immediately
A fully functional updated version of Microsoft PhotoSynth
A science labratory program for doing advanced simulations of real world analysis
An artificial intelligent mathematics, science, English, History.,etc suite for tutoring and teaching kids at home
A new era of virtual reality games with ultra realistic modeling, simulation of the real world to include social interactions. Preferable to be non-violence based.
Karaoke live
Guitar Hero for PC with a realistic guitar, drums for real world skill.
A greatly improved 64 bit version of the WCG

I'll cap it there, that's a shorter list of what I can think of. Overall, let's bring back that magic and excitement we felt when the first multimedia PC's were introduced in the early 1990's. I miss that feeling I had in 1994 with my first Leading Edge computer as it was so exciting, new and possibilities seemed endless at first.

Re: What is your realistic dream computer for 2010?

My ultimate vision beyond 2010:

Turning the PC into an all encompassing family Kiosk for play, imagination, work and education. Also, borrowing from some concepts of the movie, Time Machine(2002). The Personal Computer would become a complete Kiosk for a compendium of easily accessible knowledge surpassing any education that can be sought at the best Universities and instituitions of the world.

By this time computer boards would partly be manufactured out of hyper polymer crystals(like Star Trek TNG) with most of the components integrated into glass sheets and cubes. The main computer board would be similar to a rectangular wafter with components embedded under the smooth surface.

Normal human interactions with people face to face would only be a tradiational supplement to virtual interfacing. Holographics would be the preferred and primary choice by this time.

If anyone offers a computer for £20:10, I might get killed in the rush!

Re: What is your realistic dream computer for 2010?

I'll just be happy with understanding computers by 2010! The technology changes so fast it's hard to keep up.
And bring back Oregon Trail on 5 1/4 floppy that's my all time favorite.
Oh and keep dreaming on that virus scanner. They will have 32 core processors before that happens!!! laughing
