I have configured the BOINC client to only run when the computer is idle.
I let the computer be idle for a while, so that BOINC runs, then end the idle state, then let the computer go idle again. When it starts running the task again all of the work done during the idle period seems to be lost. At least the progress % is reset to 0 and CPU Time is reset to 0. This doesn't seem to happen when I set the client to run always as opposed to when idle. |

Depends how long you leave the client idle. The science has checkpoints that are saved. If not reached, it goes back to the previous.
----------------------------------------Try the "Leave application in memory" option in the preferences. Then the science does not get unloaded and will just continue from the point it was paused.

Leaving the application in memory seems to have done the trick.
Thanks for the prompt, and helpful, response. |
