I'm running the 32-bit version of Windows 7 beta and am seeing a consistent crash when running the WCG BOINC installer. Just wondering if others are having the same experience.

Nobody else has reported this.
Can you be a lot more specific, please? |

Sure. Here's what I'm doing:
1. Download the installer. Do a Save to my desktop. 2. Say Yes to the UAC message 3. BOINC splash screen and initial load dialog box appears. Thermometer goes to max. 4. Thud. Get a message from Windows 7 that the Windows installer has stopped working. |

Not sure if your OS is suffered from this bug?

It's too sad when a "Customer Experience Improvement Program" introduces new ways of crashing...

Thanks for the heads-up, Moonian. That was exactly the problem. Oddly enough, just after I saw your message, the Windows 7 Action Center popped up a message indicating that all users should make the registry modification described in your link.
All's well now. |
