cool Re: Is the project working?

If Beta testing is in progress, how do I get the changes to help with the test?

IF you are signed up to run beta work units
AND you are lucky enough to pick one up when your machine asks for work
THEN the changes will come to you ...

ELSE ... when the beta is complete, you'll automatically get updated when
the new WUs are available.

Beta WUs are difficult to come by for the most part.

Re: Is the project working?

To be fair it isn't the best forum around for ease of use and in most places there would be a thread stickied at the top giving a little info on what's going on.
There is....What must we do?

see the read-only known issues, in the top or next to the top forum section, depending on whether there is a new partner that week.

Here's the title. I'm not going to link.

The betas come from their own separate overall title section "beta testing" in "my grid", all the way at the bottom at the left side and independent of project. There still aren't that many distributed...only enough to solve the issue at hand. I didn't get any in the last round.

There's another trick. If you have your queue set to 4 days buffer with many workunits waiting to run, you aren't going to get any. Change that to zero in BOINC advanced preferences/network usage. They want beta results quickly, so the current workunit/core plus a pending workunit for nearly complete workunits should be sufficient, and you should be online about all of the time, to have your computer available when the beta tests are announced in the beta section.

Unfortunately, there are no queue reserve workunits, in case you want to go away for the weekend. The beta mission is mutually exclusive with that.

Re: Is the project working?

thanks, i know that trick

i just wrote that my windows computers (7 boxes) just were not so lucky (while they are on 0.0 days queue usually, 24/7)

would be nice if there was a page in stats showing how many WUs are waiting to be sent or generated
