Are you sure, that multithreading on one core causes that two tasks use exactly half of the cores potential? Magic... Got it! ![]() Hi Predseda, You are laughing again! When the memory busses are quick enough and you have enough memory to avoid soft- and/or hardpage faulting, you should get at least the same amount of work out of it. Some projects (I thought it was HCC) added advantage by hyperthreading and others don't or even have decreased efficiency. So CADENCE proposal to analyze could be very usefull. And also a very good point to use a 64bit OS in your setup mentioned in your intial post. |

Yes, my Atom 330 has HyperThreading enabled. You basically get around 45 - 50 points per hour on this machine. I think this is a good result as we notice the low power consumption of this atom machine. My C2D E4400@2,5Ghz takes about 120W per hour as both cores are running 90% 12.1.2009 -- 0:001:04:08:39 -- 3,152 -- 4 So that makes it 112 points per running hour and 120W of electricity (0,93 points/Watt). And if you can get nearly the same amount of points (let's say 100) with 80 Watts (1,25 points/W), I think that doesn't sound bad at all.
to infinity and beyond

Thats exatly what I have in mind. Points/Watt ratio. But seriously, yesterday I had the "honor" with Intel little falls 2 motherboard with atom 330. Its small, handy, it has everything I need for my project, but on the other hand there is only one slot for ram memory and the active chipset cooler is so loud. It has 6300rpm and uder load its like model plane taking off
. Anyway thanks for every opinion guys! I appreciate that! Now my business is to find if there is passive cooler available which can be used instead of default intels active one. |

I had the same problem with my Atom 330 (loud fan) back in October. I started a thread where some folks recommended a quiet fan. I recommend reading it, since it solved my problem:
