Re: Rally Paris Dakar 2009( this year in Argentina and Chile )

He is pretty good René smile

Have a look to our Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna)

Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna)Is located 13 kilometers west of San Pedro in the Cordillera de la Sal, in the Atacama desert of Chile. It’s an interesting place with stone and sand formations which have been created through the centuries by floods and wind, which has also given it an extraordinary color and texture, looking similar to the surface of the moon

The valley is also considered one of the driest places on earth, as some areas have not received a single drop of rain in hundreds of years. A prototype for a Mars rover was tested here by scientists because of the valley's dry and forbidding terrain.

Re: Rally Paris Dakar 2009( this year in Argentina and Chile )

Being a NASCAR fan I have been very interested in Robby Gordon. So far it's been quite and exciting Dakar. Especially the dry river bed cliff indecent taking out one of the leaders. Very good Dakar so far! applause
I'm not a big fan of "Team Orders" as with team VW. I'm a "every man for himself" kind of racer.

Yes brinktastee applause

Celebrated like heroes

The 31st edition of the Dakar, the first one in Latin-America, is now over and has seen the victories of Marc Coma in the bike category, Josef Machacek in the quad category, Giniel De Villiers in the car category and Firdaus Kabirov in the truck category. In total, 113 bikers, 13 quad riders, 91 car teams and 54 truck teams finished the rally-raid, that was notably marked by the exceptional enthusiasm the Dakar generated amongst the crowds in Argentina and in Chile..............

I will try to post another Video tomorrow

Rally Paris Dakar 2012 ( this year in Argentina and Chile and Peru )

This year, the start of the Dakar will take place in Mar del Plata, with the riders and crews setting out on 1st January 2012. Beforehand, they will have enjoyed a starting ceremony organised on 31st December in the evening.

News

THE ROUTE

As the condor (rather than the crow) flies, almost 5,000 kilometres separate Mar del Plata from Lima. In 2012, the Dakar will be staging a pan-American adventure of more than 9,000 kilometres in total. Unlike previous year’s loops, the route will transport the rally from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean to those of the Pacific, enabling its competitors to discover new lands and another aspect of South America. The scale of this challenge has also led to a change in the race’s format, which will include 14 days of racing in 2012. Constantly guided by the Andes Mountain range, the drivers and riders will be crossing the Atacama, and will experience in particular the diversity of the dunes as they head into Peru.

Can´t wait smile
