Huh, those are the old ones which could explain your recent experience  . The new ones are per the member news announcement:198.20.8.241 198.20.8.246 lavaflow, you're right.  You mentioned the new ones (here above) correctly. That was confusing: The old ones can still be pinged. But when you ping the address www.worldcommunitygrid.org or the new IP-address you get the new IP, but with a timeout. Probably ping is blocked on the new servers to avoid attacks. It's definitely a proxy issue... I took one machine home and it up/downloaded immediately after connecting it to my personal network....
----------------------------------------So I changed my cache to 15 days and downloaded a nice set of wu's... So crunching will continue, but I prefer a proxy cache reset... (but red tape and sla's are in the way of a quick intervention, so I''ll be patient and do the home upload instead) Thanks so far...!! At least one major player could use some help on IP refreshing. The new ones are per the member news announcement:198.20.8.241 198.20.8.246 If you are going to do this, then do the following 198.20.8.241 grid.worldcommunitygrid.org 198.20.8.246 www.worldcommunitygrid.org 198.20.8.246 secure.worldcommunitygrid.org Please note that with the hosting migration BOINC scheduler requests as well as file upload and downloads are done via https://grid.worldcommunitygrid.org The servers still respond to scheduler requests and file upload/downloads at www/secure.worldcommunitygrid.org. However, this set up will allow us to put BOINC and the website on different servers in the future when needed to support future growth. |
