The techs have kind of a mountain of other priorities, right now. And I thought they were overworked before! Understandable. Personally, I'd go one of two routes: (1.) Go for best performance with a limited number of computers, i.e. Only support Windows XP SP2 and up, MacOS 10.2 (Intel) and up, and Linux 2.6 and up. ~or~ (2.) Go for acceptable performance with anything with a processor by making the client Java-based. "Run it on your PC, your Mac, your Linux box, your BlackBerry, your router...!" |

Interesting test duane534.
It is always good to find out the most efficient combination of hard- and software. The only information I missed in your setup, is what version of Boinc you are using. I suppose it is the WCG Windows ® (6.2.28) version. |

I'll admit I stuck to the 32-bit version of Windows and the 32-bit version of BOINC. It's still possible I'd have done better with 64-bit, but I experimented with Windows XP Pro 64-bit on this box a while back, and I noticed that RAM usage increased substantially. As did the time it took me to find drivers. LOL |
