Dear all crunchers and researchers,
Are the results obtained from The Clean Energy Project beeing in the open public domain ? Are all the projects on WCG open "results" ? And if not, which project is beeing selfish ? Thanks a lot, it will maybe change my perspectives of participation. Waiting for your answers (I say Bravo to anyone crunching for science and climate, and I simply hate people polluting for SETI@home.) |

ALL World Community Grid projects are REQUIRED to release their results into the public domain.
It's one of the terms of the agreement under which they get our computing resources. :-) Just an aside: public domain is less restrictive than open source (a term that only really applies to software). When something is in the public domain, the creator has relinquished all rights and ownership. Anyone can use it for any purpose. |

I'm glad to know the answer to this question. It's good to know that it's supporting open research and not something that's just going to profit a corporation.
