WCG removed from project list and downloaded tasks not visible

My system had problems uploading results about 6-8 weeks ago and world community grid was inexplicably removed from my project list. Have downloaded the new version of boinc for wcg (6.2.28) and it has downloaded tasks but these are not showing up or wcg in project list of boinc agent. I have been running wcg boinc on two devices for months now without any problems. Help

It's because you use BAM and not added WCG to the profile there.

Remember, WCG is not fully BAM enabled. BAM will be able to detach, but not attach WCG simply because WCG uses secure comms which BAM does not.

Suggest you set the BAM contact frequency to say every 24 hours. What's the point of updating more often when daily stats only update twice a day ;>)

BAM works ok with WCG just not 100% cause of the added security and stuff on WCG

it attached to the WCG just fine

so unless you dont set BAM to add WCG then i dont see a reason that it would be BAM's fault... personaly i like BAM but i am thinking of disableing it cause i find i like to meddle too much with the programs and it slows me down with haveing to meddle through BAM

unless you are running alot of computers or do not have access to them every day or 2 BAM isnt really needed

am I reading here that BAM was able to attach WCG to a client? Can you share the settings at BAM how it's done for that is something worth sharing, even FAQ material.

The WCG pack 6.2.28 does the auto-attaching correctly, 99.99% of the times.

Most projects are fully supported by BAM!. Some projects have some limitations though.

Partly/non supported projects:
Project Problem(s)
Einstein@Home Einstein was supported but somehow their server code is broken now. Everything related to BAM! doesn't work properly anymore.

World Community Grid Only supports reading from the project. BAM! can't update settings.

XtremLab Team lookup doesn't work.

Sekerob, I never thought BAM couldn't attach to WCG. But I've never experimented with it, so that might be ignorance rather than some deep knowledge.

Attaching doesn't require updating any server settings. BAM just needs to provide the URL and account key to the client. Job done.

BOINCstats works with the Weak Account Key, which WCG has not implemented AFAIK, only the verification key. Thus I don't see how it's possible to attach.

Anyone who's done the steps to achieve it anyhow is welcome to document with options. I just tried to re-attach after manually removing WCG, and resynching the client.
