Re: Slowing down Rice project

i am getting rice units just fine... i suspect the slowdown is just that they changed the overall percentages of how much each project gets and how many total avalible units there will be

Going for gold... hopefully before x-mass

Re: Slowing down Rice project

I was seeing evidence of the slowdown in the past few days. I was getting some other non-selected projects sent to my 3 machines. The only project I had selected was Rice, so that I could get the gold badge before switching to CEP.

Re: Slowing down Rice project

Yup, I just got some non Rice projects even though I only have Rice selected. I've got Bronze in Rice but trying to go for the gold. I was doing CEP but that project is having so many problems right now I deactivated it and will wait till they have it sorted out.

Re: Slowing down Rice project

NRW has just about filled up the project server at the university with results. WCG will have to stop sending out work units until the scientists can clear out space for more results. Obviously I do not expect progress on this problem until after New Year's Day.

Re: Slowing down Rice project

There is no time frame for the slow down of this project. We are still sending work units out for this project. Due to the method work units are generated and sent to your machines we have set this project to a low priority. At this moment we are not planning to stop the project but instead let it run at low priority.

Also, watch out for evil twins,

Hope that the scientists problems to storage data be quickly solved. It is an emblematic project once is the first that research over food in WCG.

Re: Slowing down Rice project

Well, I guess it is better to struggle with TOO MUCH data than not enough. I'm glad we are able to help them have this issue! {:o)
