We are slowing down the rice project because the researchers are struggling to get enough disk space to hold all of the results. We have done this so our World Community Grid disks do not fill up too fast as well until the results can be sent to the researchers. If we get too tight on disk space, we may need to pause the rice project for some period of time. On the positive side, members have done an awesome job in contributing to this project. We thank you for that!

Till at least June 2009 at normal production share.
----------------------------------------we've done 10.4 million out of 19 million jobs, cut at 8 hours a piece. The 10 hour jobs have reduced the remaining 8.6 million by 20%, so say 7 million jobs to go.

Is there a place on this site that I can go to see how many work units for a particular project have been processes and how many are waiting?

Hello Knightro2,
Statistics - By Projects is at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewProjects.do Click on a project to see how much has been done. There is no real way to tell how much is left since this is negotiable. There are very few researchers who do not have a bit of related research stuck up their shirt sleeves in case they can convince the Board to run it. Lawrence |

personaly i would like to know when a project is about to end or about to shift phase like the Human proteome folding is in phase 2 now (and i missed bronze for phase 1 by about 26 hours)
----------------------------------------it is nice that they give us as much information as we get here though and i hope to see more work and i hope i can get enough Rice work to get myself a gold there soon too... happy crunching |

I know how you feel, nasher. I missed bronze for Genome Comparison by about 19 hours.
Thanks to Sekerob, we have some very nice graphics at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=18277 Just below the first graphic, there is some really useful information regarding when the project crunching is estimated to end (Prjt. Estim. End) and how much % of the project has already been crunched (Project Estim.). Thanks again, Sekerob! |
