Error after 9 hours of crunching

I just noticed one of my Clean Energy Job received the status Error, aafter I had returned it with over 9 hours work on it. crying

I had a peek at the error but that doesn't tell me anything. Can anyone tell me what this is about?

no clue ive done 6 of them so far with no errors but im using boinc 5.10.45.. instead i get errors on the FAAH projects.. so if your running one of the newer versions could be the reason.. though im not sure.. just an idea..

So far this is the only CEP wu that did this for me. Others allready validated or are pending validation.

I've seen other reports of similar errors so there seems to be something wrong with some of the work units. worried

I'm sure the techs will investigate the errors. I'd like to hear how big the issue is though

I got the same infomration in my log file. The WU is still running - aehm restarting after 6 minutes.
I monitor it and see what the outcome will be.

I have got the same problem as _Sunnyboy_ in the opening post.
Same error report, same message log, right after checkpointing at 100 %.
Only difference is that I run XP 32 and not Vista.

It is with one of several big monsters I have received from batches E000017 and E000018, namely
E000018_ 086A_ 00025h00w_ 0-- jmb-6600-ww Erreur 11/12/08 04:28:20 12/12/08 07:42:54 25,26 430,8 / 0,0

The other big monsters which were running at the same time have finished correctly, except one which was a little more monstruous than the others and which is expected to finish in another 7 or 8 hours.

I hope that this problem will be identified fast enough, because with those huge WUs and the problem occurring at the very end the waste of time is considerable. And think of the poor guy who now has 1 day and 15 hours to crunch the repair WU... biggrin

I also had problem with a CEP WU (my first WU from CEP), which was a disappointment since clean energy is of particular interest to me at this particular time. Expected to complete in something like 11 hours, but after 10 hours it was showing 84.7% complete and 2:20 to go, so just let it run; however, after 21 hours it was showing 84.7% complete with 3:58 to go so I aborted (never had this problem before so wasn't sure what to do, but don't think retrograde was mentioned in the contract).
Running on VISTA HP 64-bit on a Q9300. Have run into problems here and there with the 64-bit (i.e., I.Explorer 8, also Sony LCD), so wasn't sure if the problem is with VISTA and/or 64-bit, or CEP.
Meanwhile, I'll stick to the tried and true. I'll try CEP again after the problems get straightened out.

unfortunalty on some work units Boinc and WCG have not clue on how long it will take to complete a job

believe it or not they guess by how long it take you to do the other jobs and how quick the curent job has progressed

being your first work unit it probaly went with a default and was slowly updateing.. or you might have had one of the stuck ones. its hard to tell without looking at your log.

i have curently deselected this project but will crunch through my curent work units for it.. while re-gearing up for rice... if it goes back to beta of corse i hope to get some of the work units there and can spend hours looking over them and hopefully help find what ever the problem people are haveing here is.

anyways even with the tride and true projects they will have issues now and then .. mabey its a bad batch or just the unlucky 1 that will hit ya but it happens even with well tested jobs now and then

jeanne95132's WU has been stuck at 84.7 % from 10 hours to 21 hours runtime, so it is not a problem of evaluating the duration. There is was another problem, maybe in relation with the other problems she has mentioned on her machine.
