Re: Too late status

Oh its fine. I'm in no rush. It's just been a while since i've done beta. I don't know how many other people have betas that still needed to be converted. Take your time :D

I do sound defensive, don't I?

Oh well . . . I always do when we start a new project and start identifying the problems.

Re: Too late status

Agree this is low priority (and presumably wanted to wait for all units to return), but how long does it normally take to update points? BETA_ E000370_ 445A_ 001e97155_ 6, BETA_ E000370_ 445A_ 001e97155_ 7 & BETA_ E000370_ 445A_ 001e97155_ 2 are all shown as "Too Late".

Any chance of points/time being credited for following?

BETA_ E000370_ 445A_ 001e97155_ 7 returned too late and currently therefore has been given no points. It ran instantaneously it was received and then ran continuously until it was returned. I suspect points for other people have already been manually adjusted. Guessing manually, as there are minor descrepencies between valid/invalid points, and suspect this was done during the period the daily points are calculated.

Re: Too late status

I'm still waiting on 2 of mine to change from Too Late to a different status

I have asked knreed for a few words of debriefing about all these changes. We'll see what he says...

Don't be too impatient for the next status change: the last one on one or two of mine has been from Too Late to Error with no visible reason of any kind (and it was not Too Late at the beginning anyway)! smile

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Too late status

but how long does it normally take to update points?

I don't remember precisely, usually a few days probably.
Anyway "normally" does not strictly apply to the current situation: in addition to the usual high workload of a brand new project launch the techs are also working to prepare the transfer of the current server activity to another place in a few weeks from now. And it is a little less business as usual than putting boxes in trucks since "only" the data will move. At the other end new hardware and software will be waiting for all our WU files, databases, etc... which is promising, but the data transfer itself is not a piece of cake I presume.

Details and dates will be announced in time and I don't know them, so please don't ask me.

Cheers. Jean.

Maybe the status change to 'Error' happened because you complained over 'Too Late' ? ;-))
Anyway, there still seem to be enough tasks with state 'Too Late' (e.g. BETA_E000001_072A_00000p00m has four TooLates). So let's be patient, at least until they will disappear from the results status page. Then the topic is solved... ;-)

Re: Too late status

Well. out of the three "too late" results I had sitting there for a few days (each with 30+ hours) .. two have dropped off the system with no credits - I suspect the third one (shown below - 33.15 hours) will disappear tomorrow. Seems that a few people will miss out on credits.

Re: Too late status

The question is: How do you know you did not get credit?

Since BOINCview is so kind for me to tally jobs completed and using a 0 status filter on beta6, was able to reconstruct the current beta project total time, add that to last balance from before the beta in My Grid and found the total included "disappearing" job time. 6 Days closer to silver ;o)

(some claim CA's get preferential treatment... well if so, glad there's something in reward :D)

Re: Too late status

My Inconclusive->Invalid->Too Late->Error beta has quietly disappeared from the status page, without noise or credits. smile
But I have kept a note of my beta project totals so I will know if it is credited back or not.
However it is not sure I will make any fuss if it is not. smile

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Too late status

Just wanted to point out that this WU has been in Pending status for 2.5 days. Just wanted to document it before it falls off the page (unless pending stays indefinitely).

BETA_ E000370_ 024A_ 001e8x174_ 3-- Pharmacy_03 Pending Validation 05/12/08 15:54:22 09/12/08 20:46:42 28.38 195.7 / 0.0

Will have to see if the jobs is validated and my time goes up from 0:017:08:23:59
