It would be great if we could see more context for the error. Please paste the lines preceding the error.
It may simply be a transient network problem. |

Oh great. One of the specific errors. :-/
If you need to use a proxy, focus on that first. Otherwise, please will you enable http_debug and http_xfer_debug using the instructions here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration Thank you. |

I have seen it too several times here since yesterday on my usually trouble free connection. I thought that it was some particular work on the servers, but Didactylos' answer makes me think that he had none in the UK?
----------------------------------------Regional problems maybe? Cheers. Jean. |

I get this error now - The URL you supplied is not that of a BOINC-based project.

ParoxysM, are you BRUELOT?
The new error you quote is also most commonly associated with proxy problems. |

BRUELOT? Wha?
I think it may be proxy related too. If I use the wrong proxy info, it just doesn't work at all. If I use the correct info, then I get this message. |

I think you should refer to the proxy help. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=proxy
Please follow it through right to the end, then get back to us with the results. Perhaps start a new thread, if your problem is unrelated to BRUELOT's. |

Hello,
----------------------------------------I am not sure if my problem is related to this particular thread or not. However Boinc experiences since 3 or 4 days a connection problem on one of my hosts. After a reboot, Boinc is able to report completed WUs. After some hours, Boinc is not able anymore to report WUs. The message is that the server could be "temporarily down"; at the same time the Internet connection is running well from this host. The Boinc popup mentions that the network connection is not available. In the Boinc configuration, the network is defined as "always available". This particular host run since many months without particular problem. 3 other hosts are using the same Internet connection without problem. I don't use any proxy. I am still operating Boinc 5.10.45 on WinXP Pro SP3 as a service. I cannot find any reason for this very disturbing problem. I have also some difficulties to understand why, after a reboot, the connection is running as expected and later not anymore. In advance, I thank you for suggestions. Cheers, Yves |
